Throughout time, spiritual teachers say breath is a way to release stress and fear. Breathing is a way to relax the nervous system and get your body into a receptive mode so that you can program a new paradigm into the super computer that is your brain. But you say, I am so anxious I cannot even think about breathing!
Follow these steps: Step One: Breath. In and out. Just once. Step Two: Breath again more deeply and slowly. Close your eyes. As you do, picture the anxieties regarding the circumstance that is bothering you. This anxiety and fear is just the feeling of attachment to the physical world. Take a deep breath and relax into your self—feel the depth of your breath down into your diaphragm and allow yourself to become aware of your inner self and your outer self. Who has perspective here—your physical, outward shell/ego of a personality or the inner you, your spirit, that infinite spark of light that rests divinely in your heart? Step THree: Imagine your stress shrinking into a tiny speck of dust.Deconstruct the circumstance of why you arrived in the anxious state in the first place. Acknowledge it and send the feeling of love to that thing that triggered your stress. Picture yourself hugging your stress with love and then release it to the Universe. Watch it float away and feel some relaxation wave through your body. Breath. All is well. You are LOVE! Step Four: TRUST that everything is in divine timing. Affirm you are a being of Love. Say, "I am love." Say it again. "I am love. I am love."Start there. That is your new mantra. Whenever a feeling of uncomfortable anxiety comes, repeat, "I am love." Even if you don't believe this yet, you are starting a process and making a statement that your brain will accept as reality. Step Five: Project your intentions. State what you want to see occur in the physical. “I am well. All is well." Repeat until you feeling a bit more relaxed. This is KEY to moving forward. You must set your intentions and say them out loud. Step Six: Spring into action. Take steps in the physical toward your goal. Your goal is to release stress and fear. Take a walk around the block and repeat the statements: "I am well. All is well." As you step, repeat the mantra. Focus upon this and nothing else. If other thoughts enter your thinking, thank them and send them on their way with love. Back to the mantra. "I am well. All is well." Namaste!
